Observation of transcranial Doppler ultrasound and vertigo scale in the treatment of vertebrobasilar insufficiency vertigo by electroencephalogram biomimetic stimulation combined with traction

Recently, researchers from the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine of Nanjing General Hospital of Nanjing Military Region published a paper to observe the transcranial Doppler ultrasound (TCD) and vertigo scales of vertebral basilar artery insufficiency vertigo (VBIV). To assess the changes, to explore the mechanism of brain-electric bionic electrical stimulation combined with traction in the treatment of vertebrobasilar insufficiency vertigo. The study pointed out that EEG biomimetic stimulation combined with traction therapy VBIV can improve the systolic blood flow peak velocity of bilateral vertebral artery and basilar artery of this type of cervical spondylosis, and the clinical effect is more significant. The article was published in the 2014 issue of "Hebei Medicine" magazine.

Forty-four patients with VBIV were randomly divided into brain biomimetic stimulation combined with traction therapy group (combined group) and traction control group (traction group). TCD was examined before treatment and after 2 courses of treatment, and the evaluation of vertigo scale was performed to observe the effect of brain bionic stimulation combined with traction therapy on blood flow velocity and symptoms and functional status of patients with VBIV.

The comprehensive group efficiency was 63.3%, and the traction group was 7.1%. There was significant difference between the two groups (P<0.01). After treatment, the peak velocity of intracranial blood flow in both vertebral artery and basilar artery of the combined group and the traction group was significantly improved (P< 0.05), the comprehensive group was superior to the traction group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).
