According to reports, due to the plasmon resonance effect, nano-gold and other precious metal nanomaterials have shown good application prospects in the field of tumor diagnosis and treatment. However, at present, precious metal nanomaterials are not easily biodegradable, and there is a risk of long-term retention in the body, which hinders further clinical transformation.
It has been found that niobium alloys, which are widely used in aerospace materials due to their high stability, have good degradability when prepared as nanomaterials. Professor Cheng Zhengbao from the School of Food and Bioengineering of Hefei University of Technology and Prof. Lu Yang from the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering collaborated to prepare ultra-small nanometer clusters with a diameter of about 2 nm using a simple one-step liquid phase reduction method. . The nanometer strontium has significant X-ray attenuation and near-infrared absorption properties, and can be used for CT diagnosis and photothermal treatment of tumors, respectively.
The experimental results show that the X-ray absorption coefficient of this new material is superior to the commercial CT contrast agent iopromide. After the injection of the material into the tumor site, a single laser irradiation of the tumor area for 10 minutes can achieve complete thermal ablation of the solid tumor, and no recurrence is seen within 16 days. At the same time, the nano-ruthenium material can be converted into almost non-toxic perrhenate ion under the action of hydrogen peroxide, and is smoothly excreted through the kidney to ensure the safety of tumor diagnosis and treatment.
"Safe and degradable nanometer sputum is suitable for the diagnosis and treatment of a variety of solid tumors, and it is expected to replace the widely used nano gold as a new generation of tumor diagnosis and treatment preparations, which has a good clinical application prospect."
