A few days ago, the Jiangsu Provincial Price Bureau formulated the "Measures for the Selection of Cheap Medicines in Jiangsu Province." According to the regulations, the selection formula for cheap drugs is limited to tablets, capsules, pills, granules, etc., which are commonly used in clinical practice. Western medicine and proprietary Chinese medicines are applicable to different cheap prices. The prices of drugs for drug selection should be adjusted every two years in principle.

The Jiangsu Provincial Price Bureau had previously issued regulations requiring the formulation of a "Cheap List of Shortage Drugs," and the list of drugs will be subject to government pricing. Not long ago, the "Measures for the Selection of Cheap Medicines in Jiangsu Province" was finally released. According to the provisions of the Measures, cheap drugs refer to drugs that are clinically necessary, inexpensive, or low in the cost of treatment of similar diseases in certain drugs. In principle, they are limited to commonly used clinical forms, namely tablets, capsules, pills, and granules.

The regulations stipulate that Western medicine and proprietary Chinese medicines should apply different criteria for the selection of cheaper medicines. Western medicine should use the minimum unit (sheet, grain, bag, branch, bottle) price as the main selection parameter standard. Chinese medicine should use the average daily treatment cost of medicines as the main selection parameter standard. . The determination method of the daily dose of drugs shall be calculated in principle based on the amount of the main indications in the drug instructions, such as the amount of adults and children at the same time, and the average daily dose of adults shall be used as the calculation basis.

The preliminary selection of cheap drugs requires social assessment through expert review and online publicity, followed by clinical efficacy, drug safety, clinical use, etc., and publishes the “Cheap Drug Catalog” to the public. The catalog will be dynamically managed. In principle, adjust once every two years. According to the provisions of the Jiangsu Provincial Price Bureau, the measures will be implemented from September 10 this year.
