How to raise meat turtles

The rearing pond is of masonry structure with a depth of 1-1.5 meters and is not limited in area. The grout is used to graze the surface and a 1-1.5-meter-high wall is built on the land around the pond.

2. The turtle's stocking

General species turtles can be stocked in groups of 1 square meter per square meter (one male and two females in each group), medium turtles can be stocked in groups of three square meters per square meter, young turtles can be stocked in groups of five to ten per square meter, and hatchlings can be used in every one square meter. Can be stocked 10-20 groups.

3. Feed feeding

Tortoise feed is mainly animal feed, and it is suitable for matching with fruits, vegetables, etc. It can also be replaced by soft-shelled turtle feed.

4. Water Quality Management

Large pools change water for 20-50 days, small pools change water for 7-10 days, and keep the water transparency at about 25 cm. Every 20-30 days, use bleach to disinfect the water once to make the water reach 2-3ppm.

5. Hatching

Artificially cultivated meat turtles can spawn for 18 months. Each female turtle can lay 30-120 eggs each year. To collect turtle eggs in time for artificial hatching, generally after 50-60 days hatch hatchlings.
